About the Course
The Dirtyberg EMT Program was built to produce competent, confident, and thinking clinicians, not technicians who simply memorize protocols.
Our educational philosophy is centered on Physiology First because understanding why the human body functions, fails, and compensates allows better clinical decisions than memorizing algorithms alone. We believe that critical thinking begins with a solid understanding of anatomy and physiology and that exceptional patient care is built on a foundation of knowledge rather than checklists.
Students are challenged through realistic scenarios, hands-on skills laboratories, high-quality classroom instruction, and guided clinical experiences that emphasize clinical reasoning, professionalism, leadership, and teamwork. Every lesson is designed to answer not only what to do, but why it matters.
Our instructors bring decades of combined experience from high-volume 911 EMS systems, fire departments, tactical medicine, critical care transport, emergency medicine, military operations, and EMS leadership. They teach from experience while maintaining the highest educational standards and evidence-based practices.
At Dirtyberg, we believe that great EMTs are not defined by patches, certifications, or titles. They are defined by preparation, discipline, humility, and a relentless commitment to improving every day.
Our culture is built around our Six P's:
Planning
Preparation
Power
Precision
Performance
Pacesetting
These principles guide every classroom lecture, skills lab, clinical rotation, and patient interaction.
Students who complete the Dirtyberg EMT Program leave with far more than an EMT certification. They graduate with the confidence to think critically under pressure, communicate effectively, work as part of a team, and provide exceptional patient care from day one.
